I also had this sent to me and wanted to share it with you...I couldn't have said it better.....
I share this little tid-bit with you to get to a point. So many of us have been out and seen someone get on a stage to sing, whether it's karaoke, or an open mic at a venue, etc. It's rare to witness a flawless performance, even from our favorite Texas musicians whom we would follow to the ends of the earth if asked! My point is this: please re-examine your attitude toward any less-than-perfect performances...for what an incredible feat it is for ALL musicians to bare their souls to you - opening themselves up to your critiquing but loving every minute of it. That takes class, honor, and dedication, in my eyes. You never know - they may also suffer some form of stage fright, but believe in their music so much that they just push through it for YOU. I believe it was Townes Van Zandt who, when asked by a fan why he always kept his eyes closed when he sang, replied, "Well, if the audience would close their eyes, I wouldn't have to."
Thank you all SO much for supporting live music...you're the reason our members are out there night after night getting it done. Throw a few bucks in the tip jar, buy their merch, and keep the magic of Texas music alive.
have a great week and Thanks for making us a part of your day!!!
